Arizona Taxation

  • Income Tax - 4.54%

  • No Social Security Tax

  • IRA and 401k distributions are taxable at ordinary income rates. The state income tax brackets range from 2.59% to 4.54% on the highest bracket for the dollar amount you earned.

  • Private Pensions are taxable at ordinary income rates.

  • Public Pension: Up to $2500 total military, civil-service, and Arizona state and local government pensions are exempt. Government pensions from other states than AZ are fully taxed. Railroad Retirement benefits are exempt. 

  • No Inheritance or Estate Tax
